The Bleeding Heart is a perennial herbaceous plant. The name comes from the heart-shaped pendulous flowers which have a longer inner petal that extends below the ‘heart’. It is a popular ornamental plant for flower gardens in temperate climates. Bleeding Hearts usually reach a height of 2’ to 3’ with a similar spread.
